Title: Data Scientist 

Description: We are seeking a Data Scientist to be a member of our handicap department in our company. This person will assist with the growth of a research division by producing and supporting the development of various prediction models as well as investment analytics. • Develop prediction models to expand the investment strategies of the firm using advanced quantitative techniques such as machine learning, optimization, pattern recognition, and time series analysis
• Lead and oversee the research production of the division, from idea generation and data collection, to model creation and validation
• Assess the profitability of proposed investment strategies by applying back-testing, rigorous statistics, and computational experiments on historical data
• Follow academic and industry publications on machine learning, sports analytics, statistics, and optimization to generate ideas for improving the research process

Requirements:

• PhD in Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, or other quantitative discipline - OR - advance degree in similar areas with at least 3 years of relevant experience
• Research or work experience with emphasis in machine learning and prediction analysis
• Experience developing prediction models for investment/trading purposes preferred but not mandatory
